The National Science and Engineering Fair Competition program is organized by Ministry of education for all STEM centers across Ethiopia. The 8th National Science and Engineering Fair 2023 was held at AASTU from November 13-17. Two hundred eleven students took part in the competition from all STEM centers across Ethiopia. Ashenafi Mengistu from Adama Secondary School representing ASTU STEM center presented an innovative project titled, “Intelligent Bluetooth Control Wheelchair” and ranked 2nd in the competition. Ashenafi was awarded core i7 laptop as a prize for his achievement from the Ministry of Education.

Adama Science and Technology University's executive board has discussed and passed decisions on different agendas. Among the agendas the board discussed is the 2015 fiscal year performance report and the 2016 fiscal year plan review. Also, the president of the university has discussed extensively on the 2015 executive report and After extensive review of 2016 plans, the university unanimously approved both. After evaluating the university’s overall activities, the university’s current head Dr. Lemie Guta has decided to continue as the university’s president for a second term.

Yohannes Melese , graduated from Adama Science and Technology University with a dual major degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering. Yohannes has worked hard over the years, focusing not just on learning but excelling in his fields of study. His dedication has resulted in a CGPA of 3.98, with 47 A+ grades – a testament to his passion and persistence. This journey has been both challenging and rewarding for Yohannes and he is deeply grateful for the education and opportunities he has received at ASTU.

Adama Science and Technology University hosted the 2023’s Ethiopian Collegiate Programming Contest in collaboration with the African and Arab Collegiate Programming Championship(ACPC). In this year’s national contest about 9 Ethiopian Universities which involved 76 teams have participated in the contest.
